A direct-mail solicitation for Ron Paul's political and investment newsletters two decades ago warned of a "coming race war in our big cities" and of a "federal-homosexual cover-up" to play down the impact of AIDS.

The eight-page letter, which appears to carry Paul's signature at the end, also warns that the U.S. government's redesign of currency to include different colors - a move aimed at thwarting counterfeiters - actually was part of a plot to allow the government to track Americans using the "new money."

The letter urges readers to subscribe to Paul's newsletters so that he could "tell you how you can save yourself and your family" from an overbearing government.

Among other things, the articles called the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. a "world-class philanderer," criticized the U.S. holiday bearing King's name as "Hate Whitey Day," and said that AIDS sufferers "enjoy the attention and pity that comes with being sick."

...

Paul also suggested that a planned U.S. currency with new notes designed to curb counterfeiting and money laundering would result in the distribution of "totalitarian bills" that "were tinted pink and blue and brown, and blighted with holograms, diffraction gratings, metal and plastic threads and chemical alarms."

Paul said the money was designed to allow authorities to "keep track of American cash and American citizens."

so... it's got his signature on it apparently, so is it senility, or just your everyday paranoid delusional racism, homophobia, and anti-governmentism? or is it just that he's old as dirt and these were the things he grew up with and clings to, much like his opposition to the Fed and obsession with the gold standard?

and really, it's not much of a leap, just a step, from Paul's libertarian views and the anti-government paranoia of militias.

regardless, more and more -- finally -- Ron Paul is shown for the crazy old coot that he is. GOP: Grandiose Obsessive Paranoids.

and certainly that wasn't the image of Paul as Magento that Reuters had, but i stumbled on it online and thought it kind of appropriate, both in terms of racism and craziness.

There's another seed going with this story. You should see the RP supporters outrage. Saying he didn't write it. It's like a little kid with his eyes closed and ears covered going "lalalala I can't hear you!".

oh, well Newsvine didn't say that the seed may already exist, but i do see others about it now, from different sources i guess.

of course it's the other seed on which everyone congregates, but that's about the way conservatives, libertarians especially, behave; their whole philosophy is based on childish behavior and desires to do whatever they want with no responsibility, while others have to live within certain guidelines. it's a fraud.

which seed, btw, in case i haven't marked it and wanna join the crowd there?
